Our Story
I grew up helping my father in his drapery business, called Waynes Drapery Service. He was well known in his era among private designers and happy customers. He contracted all the JCPenny stores in Indiana back in his day, along with other drapery shops around Indy.
Furthermore, he taught me how to install every kind of window treatment out there and to make sure we don't cut corners. He taught me how to dress out the drapery. How not to split wood trim. Just how to be a professional in our business.
So after 25 years of being full-time in this business, I am still striving to be the King of Quality and Service.
We have recently launched our new business, called Shutter King USA. Our goal is to be crowned king on every job.

Steve King
My brother Steve King just loaded up his Mazda 3 with a builder blind job. This was the best time of my business. Steve started working with me full-time and helped me grow the company to an unprecedented mark.
Unfortunately in 2015, Steve fell on a job we were on together, and he passed away 3 days later. I decided it was over for the blind business.
I had a dream one night that Steve was in the passenger seat of my work van. He said, “Mikey, I'm right here working with you. Don't stop working. You’ve got a family to take care of.”
So, I definitely wouldn't be doing what I do today without the impact of my brother.
